Chickpeas with Garam Masala

Servings: 8

Ingredients:

• 3 cups Yupik Organic Chickpeas, cooked
• 2 tbsp Yupik Organic Virgin Coconut Oil
• 1 tsp Yupik Mediterranean Sea Salt
• ¼ cup vegetable stock
• 1 tbsp garam masala
• 1 tsp ground coriander
• 1 tsp cumin seeds
• 1 tbsp curry leaves
• 1 tsp tomato paste
• ½ tsp ground mustard
• 2 garlic cloves, crushed
• 3 shallots, roughly chopped
• ½ tsp honey

Method:

1. Place a skillet on medium heat and fry the shallots in coconut oil for 5 minutes, stirring often.
2. Add garlic and spices. Cook for an additional 1 minute.
3. Pour tomato paste and deglaze with vegetable stock.
4. Add chickpeas and curry leaves. Simmer and mix until the liquid has evaporated. Incorporate the honey and serve.
