ABOUT PINE NUTS: Did you know?
Pine nuts are the seeds found in pine cones. Harvesting begins about 10 days before the cones start to open. After harvesting, the cones are sun-dried for 20 days. Once dried, the cones are carefully opened, and the small seeds are hand-separated. Given the meticulous and labor-intensive process, it's no surprise that pine nuts are considered a luxury nut!
